Word Art Wednesday - November 27

My Inspiration card!

Today is a little shout out to my Mom! She sent me the card above with this beautiful sunburst - and it inspired my card for today. I love the pretty papers and layout.  My Mom even made her own washi tape here!

My card for today is for the Word Art Wednesday Challenge.  I hope you will play along with us - it is very simple "anything goes", just create an uplifting and positive card and post it at Word Art Wednesday challenges.  You can use this week's verse below, but it is not required.

Karen M. (Papercraft Memories) created the beautiful graphic for today's verse:

And here is my take on my Mom's sunburst card! The designer paper is actually from the Japanese dollar store - Daiymo here in Southern California.  The die is the Circle Pierced MFT die, cut in half.

Loves Rubber Stamps - "Give Thanks" Challenge

Good Morning crafty people!  Today the Challenge at Loves Rubber Stamps is Thanksgiving.  We are sponsored by the wonderful Saturated Canary, but who needs an excuse to color up a Saturated Canary image!?! Since the theme is "Thanks" I decided to make a Thank You card for my daughters student teacher who has been going out of her way to help my daughter in class.  The little matching treat bag is for some chocolate.

Patience....is what I am practicing with this HAIR! ....I know I am getting so much more patient the older I get, but working on detailed hair like this really lets you practice the art of patience.

Above are the Copics I used.

Hair:  E57, E49, E33.   Skin:  YROOO, YROO, EO2

You can find the supplies here at Loves Rubber Stamps!

{From the Heart Stamps} Sketch 44

Good Morning ladies!

Today is a new Sketch Challenge over at From the Heart Stamps and the sketch is a cutie!

I used the digi stamp Ali's Chick and Basket and I used it without the basket, for a less Easter look.  The color combo is a little odd, vanilla, cream and gray!

And the inside says "Smile.....Jesus loves you!~"

Hope you all have a wonderful day and play along with us at From the Heart Stamps Challenges.

My card inspiration today!

Awwwwww! Here is a photo of my son (who is now 11!) and he inspired today's card, which uses an image by Mo Manning.  I now know why Mo's images are so popular - they are super fun to color and I had a blast making this card.

My youngest son is now 2 years old, so needless to say I don't have much baby fever anymore....and what little I have could be satisfied by making this card.

Bo Bunny Paper -"Detour Collection"

Word Art Wednesday - Psalm 19:1

Today is a brand new.... Word Art Wednesday challenge.  Last week we had over 200 entries - woot! So if you played with us - congrats! You know how fun it is to make an uplifiting card and your card is up for one of the weekly prizes which are randomly selected.  If you didn't play, then don't be shy this week because EVERYONE is welcome.

To play this week, just create an uplifting and positive card and post it at Word Art Wednesday challenges.

As usual, Karen M. (Papercraft Memories) created the beautiful graphic for today's verse:

I wanted to make a card that honored one of God's beautiful "handy works"....nature.  I got to try out my Darice Arabello tree embosser and I used some sparkle from Michaels.

Cryogen cardstock
Stampin up card stock
Darice Arabello tree embossing pad (Jo Anns)
Distresser
Ranger Antique Linen Ink pad
Stash bling (Michael's)

I did not use any dies on this card, which has to be a first in months! Hope you all enjoy it and hope that this weeks scripture speaks to you as well.

Loves Rubber Stamps - Vintage Challenge

Good Morning crafty people!  Today is my second "official" post as a Design Team member with Loves Rubber Stamps.  I am super excited for this weeks challenge because it is Vintage or Shabby Chic Challenge. I don't usually do vintage style (ok, never...LOL) so it was a "challenge" in the true sense of the word.

For this challenge I used the Gorjuss Girls Decoupage "New Heights" pack that I bought at Loves Rubberstamps.  LOVE!!!  Not to sound like a commercial, but it was only $4.99 and it includes all the stuff below, plus some extra paper not even shown here:

Materials used:

Stash fuzzy ribbon

To decoupage this card, I just popped out the image and the image repeats.  I mixed Diamond Glaze with a little water and brushed it on the base, then I used Best Glue Ever as if it were a silicone glue, because it  is not runny so it dries in a nice ball if you want it to, and I attached the second figure raised by the glue.  Then I pasted a coat of Diamond Glaze over this.  Repeat.  It is super fast and easy. Actually quicker for me than coloring and stamping.  Decoupage is fun!

Thanks for stopping by!

Word Art Wednesday - I John 3:18

Good Morning everyone! It is another beautiful Wednesday and that means - Word Art Wednesday challenge!

I hope you will play along with us - it is very simple anything goes, just create an uplifting and positive card and post it at Word Art Wednesday challenges.

Karen M. (Papercraft Memories) created the beautiful graphic for today's verse:

For me this verse reminds me to show love in my actions, not just my words.  What does it mean to you?

For this card I used Some Odd Girl Painter Mae and colored her with Copics.  The paper is from the Japanese dollar store - Daimyo here in California.  And the dies on the corner are Whimsy dies.  The speech bubble is from Echo Park since I don't have an electronic cutting machine to use one of the SOG cut files.

Good morning Crafty ladies!

I don't have the gift of Evangelism, so I will leave that to the talented ladies like Karen over at Word Art Wednesday who do.

I do feel that I have a passion and gift to create, so I am super pleased to announce that today marks my first post as a Design Team member at Word Art Wednesday challenges!

Karen M. (Papercraft Memories) created the beautiful graphic for today's verse:
The card style I used is called a Double Dutch Fold card.  I googled to find a quick tutorial for the card measurements, and ended up using them from Shelly's Images Blog.  Shelly's photos are so great I didn't even need to read the tutorial and I highly recommend you check out her site!

Guest Designer Position~All Dressed Up!

I am so excited to be asked as Guest Designer for All Dressed Up for the month of November! These digis are ridiculously adorable and the team of designers on the All Dress Up Challenge Blog is so inspirational - so check them out.  You can find these digis available at the All Dressed Up ETSY Shop.

The challenge today is "Thanks" or Autumn colors.  As you can see, I chose the "thanks"theme. :-)
The sentiment that came with this digi stamp is perfect - it says "A Time To Give...." and I added the "THANKS" at the bottom.

I was super happy to be able to use my Liquid Glass on the jars of Taffy & Lemon Drops.
Design paper is from Lily Bee Design and is called "Handmade".

White Cardstock - Cryogen

Card Instructions:

Make top fold card out of white cardstock 5.25 " square.  Cut designer paper (dots) 5" square; distress sides of paper; sponge sides with Antique Linen Distress Ink; glue onto the 5"square white card stock.  Cut solid blue square 4" square; distress; sponge with Antique Linen; and glue onto the blue cardstock.  Attach corner embellishments and rhinestones.  Glue on fuzzy ribbon.  Cut 1 pieces of red card stock 4.5" x 1.5" and 1 piece of red card stock 5" x 2". Distress sides, then glue over the fuzzy ribbon.  Print Birdie and Balloon digi image onto Cryogen (or some people like Neenah as well); cut with oval die and color with Copics.  Tape some designer paper (red/white dots) over where the balloon will print, then print out a second image of Birdie and Balloon; fussy cut the balloon then glue onto the original image (the one colored with Copics).  Cut another slightly larger oval out of blue card stock and glue both ovals to top of card.  Use the banners die to cut out the sentiment.  Use the die as a  stencil to trace a larger banner out of blue stock.  Glue both to card with sticky dots.
Now head over to Lyn to visit her lovely creation.
