New Blog Title: My Inky Pinky

So I have some great news, my new blog title has changed from Crafty Lawyer Creates, to My Inky Pinky.  (Changing the Blogger title banner, added to my to do list!)

You may be wondering, "why is this good news for Laura"? Well as I distance myself away from my prior career I feel more me!
Plus its more fun and I do definitely have inky fingers lots of the time! :-)

I also am learning new crafting skills, loves and challenges with Digital Scrapbooking.  This is something new for me, but as a card maker and photoshop lover, I can combine both creating and photoshop into one project.  Plus I get an album page after !

Here is my first ever Scrapbook page post, hope you love it!

Papertrey Ink Focal Cluster

Good Morning, Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday Challenge #227 is to create a focal cluster.  Lexi has a great video on creating focal clusters at the Challenge link.   I used stamps from the PTI set Polka Dot Parade #9.  The gift is from Lawn Fawn's Party set.

While it looks pretty simple, of course, it took forever for me to get the images lined up and figure out the setting I wanted to use.  I did enjoy using the set in a ways I never would have thought to do.  Thanks for peeking!

Festive Moose

Good Morning! Today I created a card I call Festive Moose because what's more Christmasy than a moose in a santa hat with Christmas lights on his antlers?

I used the original Paper Smooches Chubby Chum Pals stamp set, which can be used so many times because they have all kinds of fun accessories.

I used Doodlebugs patterned paper and Copics to color the moose.  I decided he needed a festive vest, so I drew one with my Black Micron pen and colored it in with Copics as well.
I added glossy accents to make the Christmas lights sparkle.  I am linking up to the Paper Smooches Guest Designer search for November and Marker Pop Challenge #79 Anything Goes.  Thanks for visiting!

Papertrey Ink Watercolor Winter

Good Morning! Today's card was inspired by Nichole Heady's card for the Papertrey Ink Create With Us October 2015 Challenge.

Here is the inspiration, Nichole's card:

I just love the splash of watercolor background, and the graphic look of the stamps, and the color...LOL...ok I love it all!

Here is my interpretation, a little less "watercolors" because I didn't have any stamps with that graphic look, but I still love it.

I am also entering this card in the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 266, Watercolors.  Thanks for visiting!

Avery Elle - Baby Girl Card

Hi, today I want to share a card I made for the Avery Elle Think Pink Challenge #29.  I used the Avery Elle story book stamps for the birds, sentiment, mouse and bunny. They were all colored with Copics.  I used the MFT Blueprints 20 dienamics for the frame.

Thanks for visiting today!

Fun with Die Cuts

Hello crafters! Today I have a card to share that I made for the inspirational photo challenge at Paper Smooches.  I've been a bit obsessed with dies lately and challenged myself to try to use them in creative ways.

And here is the inspirational photo:
To make my card I knew that I wanted to use my favorite Distress ink colors - Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry.  I sponged it on my card front, then flicked water for the water spots.

I used my Paper Smooches die "Linked Hearts" to cut the bottom of my card front.  I then cut it again using gorgeous shiny paper from Paper Temptress.  I then pieced some of the hearts back in and used my "Love" die to cut a sentiment also from the distressed paper.

As a little surprise, I glued the remaining die cut from Paper Smooches to the inside of the card.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Challenge Autumn in the Air

It's Fall Ya'll

Hello there~ Today I made a card using The Greeting Farms Frappe Anya. I added white snow puff paint to look like her whipped cream and colored her up with copies.  I am entering her in The Greeting Farm's October Farm Fresh Challenge, which is using purple, black and orange.  I don't make Halloween cards so I turned it into a Fall palette.

I am also entering in the Marker Pop Anything Goes Challenge #79. Thanks for visiting!

Paper Smooches - Bear Hugs

Hello crafty ladies! Today I am sharing a card I made using the Paper Smooches set Chubby Chum Pals.  I really like coloring these little animals up because of their simple design, and I had so much fun using my Copics.  I stamped several copies of each animal and played around with the colors before I was happy with the end result and paper pieced the little guys out.

In case your interested the Copics I used are Moose (Y35, YR14, YR15 and W4) and Bear (Y28, E44, E47, and E49).

I wanted to focus on the animals so I used a plain white background that I dry embossed.  I also used the MFT Inside Out Dies for the diagonal cross stitch embossing.  Finally, I used a few hearts and enamel dots to round it out.

I am entering this in the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge, Lawnscaping Challenge 115, Sentiments and the Paper Smooches Guest Designer for November challenge.  Thanks for peeking!

Papertrey Ink Make it Monday with Stripes

Good Morning craft-a-holics! Today I made a card for the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday Challenge #226 to use stripes on your card.  I chose to use the stripes to ground the image.

Stamps used are the sheep, grass and sentiment from Papertrey Ink and the heart lines are from Your Next Stamp.  Thanks for peeking!

Penguin Treat Box with Papertrey Ink

So I have a weekly roll on the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday Challenge #228 and I'd like to see how long I can keep it going, since I love participating in the PTI challenges!

This weeks challenge is make a Die Cut Shaped Box.  There is an awesome tutorial by Ashley Cannon Newell HERE.

For my project I used the Mason Jar die cut and stamp from Lawn Fawn.  The penguin, sentiment and snowflakes are all from the Papertrey Ink Winter Penguin Stamp set.
I love the little treat box, but I am actually equally proud of my photography, since all of my photos are just shot in my kitchen on my iPad camera! I then clean it up with photoshop.

I have always loved photography so Im sure I will have to cave in and buy a DSL camera one day, for now I say I have enough hobbies!

Thanks for looking!

Coffee Lovers Fun...

I am happy to join in on the fun of the Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop.  I created this card using Distress Ink and the Fishers coffee stamp set.  I colored it up with copies and added Fall colors to the card.

I just had to share my 2 favorite "oldies but goodies" coffee quotes:

A Penny Black "Snow Day"

I live in California where it's almost 90 degrees right now, so the idea of snow in September is a nice dream.  But I love Penny Black's little Mimi stamps.  She is so adorable and Im glad I got a chance to ink this cutie up.  I colored her with Copics and added Marvy puff snow to accent, paper pieced the curtains, and die cut the sentiment "Smile" with patterned paper.

Im entering this in the Penny Black Saturday challenge for September which is use 3 Designer papers.

Thanks for peeking!

One Layer with Lawn Fawn

The Lawn Fawn challenge this week is one layer card.  I find one layer cards a lot harder to make because I always want to add something.  I decided to use Flutter By a lesser known Lawn Fawn set, but I love the beautiful stained glass look.

This was heat embossed then colored with Copics.  I am entering this in the Lawnscaping One Layer challenge.  Thanks for looking.

Paper Smooches ~Free Digi~ Link

Lots of Paper Smooches love to share today, so let's get started!

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge Sept. 20-26  has a theme of Anything Goes as long as you use a Paper Smooches product.  For my card above I used two sentiments from the Bold Buzzwords stamp set.  It's a very versatile set!

I also used the super cute Paper Smooches free "Bee" Digi found here.

To make 2 bee buddies I just mirror imaged one in Word and shrunk him a little.  I colored both these guys up with my Copics yellow Y04, Y13, Y38 and W4 for shading since there wasn't enough contrast with just the yellows.

To make the contrasting black/white text I used this super fun technique found in this Danielle Flanders video tutorial.  The whole project was such fun and I am entering it in the Sparks Challenge.  Also in the Marker Pop Challenge #78 Booyah for the Halloween colors and copic coloring.

Your Next Stamp - Sketch & Color Challenge #23

Happy Fall Y'all....I made this card for Your Next Stamps Color Challenge #23.  Here was the very grown-up color palette, I just love the gray & brown together.

For my card I used the YNS Background Stamps called "Dots & Hearts". It is on sale for $7.98 which is a bargain and it has all these different background options:
I used the middle size dots and Spicy Marmalade and Wild Honey distress inks, and lightly misted with water before making my background paper.  Its very relaxing to make your own background, plus you can get it any color you need it to be.
To finish this card, I used the adorable little squirrel and sentiment from the YNS Autumn Greetings stamp set.

I colored the squirrel up with my new favorite combo of Copics - Y35, YR14, YR 15, and W4-.  I will be entering this card in the YNS Sketch & Color Challenge #23, hope you enjoy it!
