Happy Day in Fall

This was my first attempt at an easel card, and I can see a lot more in my future.  It was fun to make and I like the different look.  There are tons of easel card tutorials out there, but the one I recommend and used is by Beate Johns Easel Card Tutorial.

I also tried a new technique for the background sky using masking & sponging & a homemade cloud template (made by my Mom!).  I like the effect and can see using it again!

Materials Used:

Image - From The Heart Stamps
Paper - Recollections Harvest pack from Michaels
Die - Scallop border from Sweet &Sassy Stamps
         Martha Stewart border punch
Coloring - Copics
Ink - Ranger peacock distress ink (clouds)
sponge & misc. stash ribbon & sentiment

Fairy Gift Tag

I love this little Pollycraft fairy and it is the second project I am making with this image! The first project was a card.  For this quick project I colored her Fall colors and made a gift tag for my daughter.  I like that it is non-traditional Christmas colors and I'm hoping my daughter will love it.

Materials used:

image - Pollycraft digi image
Sentiment - Stampin up
Coloring = Copics
paper - Kraft cardstock and Neenah white
Laminator machine (but you can also get your projects laminated for a great price at Office supply stores)

Fall Fairy

Happy Sunday! I was very nervous about taking my 2 year old to church this morning because it was the first time I was leaving him at the nursery.  I should have had more faith, because God took care of it all and the baby was fine (which is a miracle because he is a Momma's Boy!).

To celebrate I finished up this fairy card I had started last night.  The sketch I used is from Chocolate Coffee Cards Challenge Blog.

I used Fall Colors instead of pink or red to try something different.

Ingredients:

image - Pollycraft free fairy digi
Sentiment - stash sticker and ribbons
paper - Michael's recollections; and Neenah white

Yummy Quilt Blocks

My first craft love is sewing and quilting! I always mention it.... but I realized I have never posted one of my sewn creations.  Time to remedy that!

Here are 3 pretty quilt blocks I made for my Flickr quilting bee July partner Eustella.

Here they are opened up.  Yes, its the Union Jack quilt block. Such a gorgeous quilt block.  Eustella requested pinks/reds/yellows/turquoise and dots with flowers.

Here I am sewing the block together.  I had to make two of the turquoise/pink one because the first came out a little too small which really bothered me! In a quilt, you kind of have to have the measurements right and I didn't want to throw off her whole quilt...so I remade that block.  Im sending her both, maybe the smaller one can be a pillowcase?

Hope you enjoyed peeking at these blocks, as much as I enjoyed sewing them!
