A Penny Black "Snow Day"

I live in California where it's almost 90 degrees right now, so the idea of snow in September is a nice dream.  But I love Penny Black's little Mimi stamps.  She is so adorable and Im glad I got a chance to ink this cutie up.  I colored her with Copics and added Marvy puff snow to accent, paper pieced the curtains, and die cut the sentiment "Smile" with patterned paper.

Im entering this in the Penny Black Saturday challenge for September which is use 3 Designer papers.

Thanks for peeking!

One Layer with Lawn Fawn

The Lawn Fawn challenge this week is one layer card.  I find one layer cards a lot harder to make because I always want to add something.  I decided to use Flutter By a lesser known Lawn Fawn set, but I love the beautiful stained glass look.

This was heat embossed then colored with Copics.  I am entering this in the Lawnscaping One Layer challenge.  Thanks for looking.

Paper Smooches ~Free Digi~ Link

Lots of Paper Smooches love to share today, so let's get started!

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge Sept. 20-26  has a theme of Anything Goes as long as you use a Paper Smooches product.  For my card above I used two sentiments from the Bold Buzzwords stamp set.  It's a very versatile set!

I also used the super cute Paper Smooches free "Bee" Digi found here.

To make 2 bee buddies I just mirror imaged one in Word and shrunk him a little.  I colored both these guys up with my Copics yellow Y04, Y13, Y38 and W4 for shading since there wasn't enough contrast with just the yellows.

To make the contrasting black/white text I used this super fun technique found in this Danielle Flanders video tutorial.  The whole project was such fun and I am entering it in the Sparks Challenge.  Also in the Marker Pop Challenge #78 Booyah for the Halloween colors and copic coloring.

Your Next Stamp - Sketch & Color Challenge #23

Happy Fall Y'all....I made this card for Your Next Stamps Color Challenge #23.  Here was the very grown-up color palette, I just love the gray & brown together.

For my card I used the YNS Background Stamps called "Dots & Hearts". It is on sale for $7.98 which is a bargain and it has all these different background options:
I used the middle size dots and Spicy Marmalade and Wild Honey distress inks, and lightly misted with water before making my background paper.  Its very relaxing to make your own background, plus you can get it any color you need it to be.
To finish this card, I used the adorable little squirrel and sentiment from the YNS Autumn Greetings stamp set.

I colored the squirrel up with my new favorite combo of Copics - Y35, YR14, YR 15, and W4-.  I will be entering this card in the YNS Sketch & Color Challenge #23, hope you enjoy it!

Papertrey Ink Black, White & Watercolor all over.....

Those following along know that I am a little bit obsessed about the Papertrey Ink products and tutorials lately, and for good reason!.

This week's Make it Monday #224 tutorial and challenge from Papertrey Ink is just as awesome as always and features a great technique video by Danielle Flanders you can find HERE.  I don't have the stripes cover plate, and made it without.  Danielle has simple instructions for both!

Here is the card I made to enter the challenge....and it has so much drama, I really love it.  And I got to use my Pretty Lady Fashion stamp from PTI again, bonus!

To make the card I just stamped her out over some watercolor paper I had made with my Kuratake Zigs and fussy cut it.  I also made a matching background.  The rose is from the Bigger Blooms stamp set.  And the big Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Think Big Favories #12 stamp set.

Here is a close up, thanks for looking!

A Little Mermaid YNS

Your Next Stamp's Color & Sketch Challenge #122 has a very pretty color combo and Sketch, so I decided to use both.

The specifics are:

My card uses the YNS mermaid stamp set and I colored her with copics and added glitter. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn. Of course all mermaids have pearls!

Pretty pastels from Papertrey Ink

The Create Along With Me Papertrey Ink challenge is to create something inspired by the September release.  I love lots of the dies in the new release, but I was very inspired by Nicole Heady's pretty pastel color scheme in this card:

To make my card, I used the Stamp a Faire pretty lady in a dress stamp that I paper pieced with newsletter.  I used a very pale pink to add the accent dots and I used Pear Tart green for the brush strokes stamps.  This was my first time playing around with these new stamps.

Here is a close up of my card:
I will be entering this in Papertrey Ink September Create Along.
