Loves Rubber Stamps - Challenge #76 QKR Stampede

Happy Tuesday, friends and crafters! This means a new challenge at Loves Rubber Stamps. Sadly this is my last challenge as Guest Designer with Loves Rubber Stamps.  I had so much fun, these ladies are awesome to work with and their designs are inspiring.  I was so honored to work with them.

Well, Challenge 76 is following the theme of Halloween.  I have to admit, this Challenge was hard for me to get mojo on - because we don't celebrate Halloween in our family! But I ended up with a card that doesn't have any witches etc on it, but I still hope will fit in with this weeks challenge.  It does have black on it! :-)

I thought this little guy was a hedgehog, but am told (by my 8 year old) that it is a porcupine!

"Smile"....is what the embossed sentiment says!

Materials Used:

QKR Stampede "Porcupine" - Sponsor digi image

Paper - Crate Paper "Harvest Market"
Cardstock - Bazzill Black
Coloring - Copic Markers
Candi Dots - Icing Sugar colored black with Copic Marker and Diamond Glaze gloss added
Embossing Folders  - Smile by Darice; Wildflowers by Sizzix
Stash burlap, pearl flower

Challenges entering:

Simon Says Stamp - Monday Challenge Blog (Nov. 4)
Crafty Hands - Challenge 1 Anything Goes (Nov.7)

Loves Rubber Stamps - Challenge 75 "Treats, No Tricks"

Happy Tuesday, fellow crafters! This means a new challenge at Loves Rubber Stamps. Challenge 75 is super fun, you can do a "trick" card or a "treat".  I have to admit, this Challenge was hard for me to get mojo on - because we don't celebrate Halloween in our family! But I ended up with a treat bag that doesn't have any witches etc on it, but I still hope will fit in with this weeks challenge.

I started with a plain black bag from Michael's (.29 cents!).  Then I added some DP that I grunged up a bit.  The sentiment was created from my Lawn Fawn letter stamps and the little Fox is from Some Odd Girl.  The label is from Gorjuss! I just love Gorjuss and am glad for a chance to use this stuff.  I dug through my sewing ribbons for the pretty velvet ribbon...I love this color!

Materials used:

Some Odd Girl  - Stamp "Hey Foxy"
Lawn Fawn - "Riley's ABCs"
Gorjuss Girls - 8 x 8 Paper Pack
Copic Markers - Sketch markers
Stash ribbons, tissue paper, metal flower

Handmade Harbour Challenge October 16 - Something Pretty

Good Morning Crafties! Today is the "Something Pretty Challenge" over at Handmade Harbour and there are so many pretty stamps to choose from.  I decided on Beach Hut one of the new stamps.  It looks like this....

I had been wanting to 1) use my little white picket fence (LOL) and 2) try a Double Easel card so this was the perfect card to do both!  I really like the sweet effect.

And this card is functional...it completely folds up to a 5.5 square to be mailed!

Loves Rubber Stamps Challenge #74 - Pumpkins and Leaves

Today is October 15, which means another fab Challenge over at Loves Rubber Stamps!  I am so excited to be guest designing this month, and the sponsor of this weeks challenge is QKR Stampede and Monkey Feet Designs....so you have a chance for some awesome prizes!

The card I made uses a Monkey Feet Designs Digi Image.  I made a fold card and created a pumpkin slider with a November calendar on it.  Now - we have pumpkins and leaves!  Hope you enjoy this creation.  I used it for a calendar but I thought it would make a great party invitation too.

"Pumpkin Insert Card"

The main rectangle (with the Chevrons) size is 5 3/4 inches x 4 1/4 inches.  I cut the 2 front panels at an angle and glued to the back of the chevron card.  The pumpkins are paper pieced.

Materials used:

Sponsor All That Scraps Image -  By Monkey Feet/CC Designs
Paper - Lawn Fawn "Into The Woods"
Cardstock - Bazzill Icy Mint Blue
Coloring - Copic Markers
Large pumpkin slider - free clip art
Stash calendar, sentiment and leaves

I {Heart} Card Sketch #38: Hope

Good Morning Crafties! Today is the start of a super fun Sketch Challenge at I {Heart} Card Sketch.  I followed it closely since it is such a great sketch.

See....pretty cool sketch huh?

Here is my card in the upright position.  My Mom came to visit and brought me some Stampin Up "In colors" cardstock - so beautiful and I had to put it to use immediately!  I love the butterfly stamp and wanted to make a special card for my sister-in-law who is a survivor!

The butterfly is paper pieced and the stitching is with my sewing machine.

Materials used:

Paper - My Mind's Eye "Lucky In Love"
            LilybeeDesign "Harvest Market"
Cardstock - Stampin Up "Midnight Muse" & "Primrose Petals"
Spellbinders - nestabilities dies
Sizzix - Beach Embossing folder set

Handmade Harbour Challenge #8 - "Let's Hear it for the Boys"

Man-Cards are notoriously hard to make.  Probably because we can't use our pretty flourishes, paper,  and flowers.  This cool van image helped this card to come together and it was fun to color a non-human object.

You can find this digi at Handmade Harbour and while you are there check out this week's challenge - For Men or Boys!  The winner gets 3 free digs, so it's definitely worth playing!
