Let it Snow with Penny Black

Just wanted to pop in with this card I made for the 7 Kids Challenge this week, "Let it Snow".  I used the Penny Black stamp and colored her with Copics.  The sentiment is also from Penny Black.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the background and the file is from Kristen Magee.

Day Planner Fun….

Just wanted to share my new planner for 2015 and the pages for next week…….

Have you noticed all the adorable planners on Pinterest?  Above on my Pinterest tab, I have a whole board on adorable planners I have seen.  I decided to hop on the Planner bandwagon myself, since I desperately need to keep better organized and know what I am supposed to be doing each day.  

It's embarrassing to admit but I missed several appointments last year….just completely forgot about them and didn't show up.  I know it's a cliche, the stay-at-home mom saying she's busier now than when she was working out of the home…so I won't say it…..but I do feel I am running around an awful lot each week with 3 kids at different stages (3 year old preschooler, 10 year old middle schooler, 12 year old pre-teen).

About the planner, I really enjoyed the extravagance of making something that I felt was adorable and special…just for me.  Yes I will share it on my blog at times, but there are lots of the planner that only I will see. That is very different than a card or a quilt I make for others to enjoy.  

Im looking forward to how this new Journey progresses…..

Word Art Wednesday - Matthew 5:16

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today's verse over at Word Art Wednesday is from Matthew.  My Mom was here over the weekend from out of state (she lives in Hawaii~) and we had fun coming up with this card.  She is the one who got me into copics and coloring, and she has some copics over 12 years old (she dates them!).   To make my card today Iweused the adorable image Mimi from Penny Black. I used my Silhouette to cut the shape behind the verse and copics to  color her up.

it's Cold Outside! with the Greeting Farm…..

Well today I wanted to make a card for The Greeting Farm's It's Cold outside challenge.  I used my coffee Ian since he is bundled up and most of my other TGF stamps are summer!  Ok, all of my other TGF stamps are summer!!! Not sure why….

I used my Cameo Silhouette to cut the background for the card from 3 colors of card stock (LOVE this cut file by Erin Doan called "Winter Card", got it at the Silhouette store).  I colored Ian up with my trusty rusty Copics.

Word Art Wednesday Morning…...

Good morning! Today's art for Word Art Wednesday I was playing around with my Silhouette Cameo still trying to learn all it does.  I used a silhouette digital file for the card base.  The little angel is from Whimsie Doodle and I colored her with Copics.  There are lots of great prizes this week at Word Art Wednesday so be sure to join the challenge!

Little Quick Bowdabra Bow ~Tutorial~

If you are a crafter of any type the Bowdabra is a handy tool and easy to use.  It basically holds your ribbon for you so you can get a pretty bow very quickly.  Even a small one like I used on my box here. The little box is 2.25 inches square.  The ribbon is 1.5 " ribbon.

Here is how easy it is:

Cut the Bowdabra wire (or whatever string you are using) to 30".  Fold the wire in half so it makes a loop and place it in the Bowdabra with the loop on one side.

At this point I like to turn my Bowdabra so I can make sure my loops are even.  Lay the ribbon in the Bowdabra (I used 1.5" Ribbon here).

Fold the ribbon over and go back and forth.  I like to twist the ribbon as I pull it to the next loop.  Here is a side view.

I like to make my loops smaller as I go up so the bow is nice and round on top.

Scrunch the bow down using the Bowdabra Wand  (included with the Bowdabra).  The wand goes in the same way as the wire (not the ribbon).

Pull the loopy side of the wire over the bow and insert the tails through it to make a knot around the bow.  **Make sure you take out your wand before you tie the wire or your wand will be in the bow.** Not that I have done this myself or anything….  :=)

Pull your bow out and fluff it. I like to pull the loops in opposite directions.  

Thats it! Now enjoy your pretty bow.
